Pontiac Lake real estate and homes

The homes on Pontiac Lake are mostly smaller cottages, if you are looking for an upscale lake with larger homes, then this is not the lake you want to look at. The current Pontiac Lake homes started to be built in 1938 and there are some homes on the lake that were built in the 1990's. Some of the older homes on the lake have been added on to or rebuilt.

Pontiac Lake homes consist of small ranchs beginning at 600 square feet up to colonials ranging around 2400 square feet. There are also some bungalow and cape cod style homes on the lake.

Also located on the lake are some small apartments that can be rented as low as $300 a month. Located across the lake are condos, as well as a small mobile home park.

Pontiac Lake Location

Pontiac Lake in White Lake Township is located north of M-59, east of Teggerdine, west of N. Williams Rd, and south of Gale and White Lake Rd.  The lake is also minutes from Waterford.

Pontiac Lake Information

Pontiac Lake is a 612 acre lake with a maximum depth up to 34 feet. The lake is an all sports lake with a few no wake zones. There are 17 islands on the lake along with marinas and the Pontiac State Recreation area.

Pontiac Lake Recreation surrounds 1/2  the lake covering over 3745 acres. This area has a nice beach with concession stand, playground, changing facilities, picnic area and shelters, hiking trails, public boat launch with plenty of parking.  It is a great place to enjoy Pontiac Lake if you don't own any lakefront property.  DNR permit passes required.

There is a lot of public access through the Pontiac State Recreation area or the marinas.  There are 84 public parking spots at the recreation area alone.  The lake is easy to get on being so close to M-59.

Pontiac Lake Fishing

Fishing is good on Pontiac Lake and there are usually quite a few ice shanties in the winter.  Fish species are:

  • Northern Pike
  • Largemouth Bass
  • Crappie some as large as 14"
  • Perch
  • Walleye 16-18"
  • Catfish Channel, Bull Head, Flat some as big as 10 pounds
  • Rock Bass
