White Lake Township is located in the cetral western side of Oakland County. I would call the township semi rural as there are lots of places that you can think you are up north. What I am saying is that it is not over developed even though M-59 runs right through the township.
There is not subdivision after subdivision. In fact there are still plenty of dirt roads, forests, and open fields. Several of the community's large parcels have been preserved as state recreation areas and county parks
The township is 34 miles to Detroit, 32 miles to Detroit Metropolitan International Airport, 5 miles to Oakland County International Airport.
White Lake is bordered by the following townships: Springfield, Independence, Waterford, Commerce, Milford, Highland and Rose Twp.

White Lake is 37.17 square miles with 21 lakes. It is a delightful community with very little industry. White Lake Township provides some of the very best summer and winter recreational areas. The township is not located near any major expressway is about an hour from Metro Airport. Though getting to an expressway is relatively easy and about 15 -20 minutes away.
