Northville Real Estate

Northville Michigan is one of the top cities in Wayne County.  It ranks right up there with Grosse Pointe on the east side of Wayne County as far as buyer's desirability.  Metro Detroit home buyers want to find a home in Northville if they can.  Several reasons are:

  1. Great school system
  2. Easy highway access
  3. Centrally located
  4. Wide range of home styles and prices
  5. The demographics of the city
  6. The historic downtown center
  7. Closeness to shopping, restaurants, banks, medical facilities, and churches

Is Northville a safe place to live?

Northville Real Estate

Buyers.  When moving to Michigan it can be confusing on where to buy a home.  So here is some information about Northville real estate and Northville homes for sale.  Northville MI has a wide variety of home styles and subdivisions.  The homes around Downtown Northville were built as far back as the 1800's .  There are newer more modern homes that have been built between the older, beautiful Victorian homes.

Northville homes can be little 1000 square foot ranch homes to over 10,000 square foot luxury estate homes.  There are homes with one and two acres lots and some of Northville's  estate homes have over 10 acres.

The homes in the city range widely in age.  I would say the majority of homes have now been built after the 1960's  Depending on when the home was built and if it was remodeled will determine how high the ceilings are, whether it has an open layout, and what type of ammenities it has.  Many of the newer Northville homes have:

Open Layouts

Basements

Attached 3+ garages

Spacious kitchens with granite counter tops

Brick/stone exteriors

Master Bedroom suites with large master bathrooms

Great Rooms

Grand entrances/ foyer

Some of them have media rooms, 3 & 4 car garages, walkout basements, finished basements, libraries, bonus rooms, pools, and fenced yards.

Northville real estate has varied lots size and Northville subdivisions are sometimes rolling.  We do have some lakefront homes in Northville Township.  They are not big allsports lakes.  Most of them are just big ponds, but there are a few lakes in Stonewater subdivsion that you can have an electric motor pontoon boat on.

You can sometimes tell what a house will be like by looking at it's age.  Northville homes that were built in the 1960's and 1970's usually range in size from 1800 to about 2500 square foot, have basements, 2 car garages, 3-4 bedrooms, and 2+ bathrooms.

During the years of 1985 -1990 the building styles changed in Northville Michigan.  Northville real estate and homes became bigger because land became more expensive and buyer's tastes changed.  The builders built homes with spacious master bedroom suites with walk in closet, great rooms with soaring ceilings, 3 + car garages, open layouts, bigger kitchens.  You will notice a big difference between an early 1980's home and a Northville homebuilt after 1995.

I have lived in the area for most of my life.  I know Northville Michigan very well.  I am constantly in the real estate "trenches" (showing, selling, and listing homes)  I work at real estate full time.  So if you are looking for a hard working real estate agent that will knows the market give me a call on my cell at (313) 310-9855.
