Here are three major tips to home negotiation when buying a Walled Lake home are:

1. respond back quickly to any counter offer
2. don’t change the terms
3. keep coming together towards resolution

So let’s talk about number one.  As a Walled Lake real estate agent  I have found the deals that fall apart are the ones that have a lot of lag time between the buyer and seller response.  I prefer to have my clients respond back within 1 -4 hours.  When you get into days when responding back you start bringing in emotions.  So respond back quickly.

Number two – Don’t change the terms.  If you are talking about price on the Walled Lake home and seller’s concessions don’t add in something into the mix like adding their dining room set to the negotiations.  Stay focused on the items that you started with and negotiate them out.

Number three – Keep coming together towards resolution.  If you truly want to buy a Walled Lake home then you need to try to reach a compromise.  If you dig your feet in the sand, it may come to a stalemate and fall apart.  So if you want the Walled lake home keep Negotiating. Like I said above don’t ask for more items halfway through the negotiations or lower your price.

You look like you went crazy all of a sudden when you do that.  The seller will think you are not serious when you go the wrong direction.
