Redford Michigan

Redford Real Estate
If you are relocating to Michigan and looking for a mega mansion or luxorius estate then Redford is not the community you want to be looking in.  The majority of Redford homes were built from the 1920- 1960's.  They will be wood frame bungalows or ranches that are clad in aluminum or vinyl siding. Some will be brick too.  Many of them will be under 1200 square feet.  Of course there are many homes through Redford Michigan that have been added onto.  So yes, you will find bigger homes, some even are over 2000 square feet.

However, there are areas in the community that have larger ranch and small colonials in.  There is an area by Five Mile by the golf course that have big, beautiful brick homes that range in size from 1500 to over 2000 square feet in size.

During the real estate crash some Redford homes were selling in the $10,000 to $25,000 range.  Now the home prices of Redford real estate has rebounded.  In 2013 real estate prices have rebounded, not to the top prices of 2006 but they are moving up.  Redford is a community that you should look at if you want to find a home under a $100,000.

Redford real estate prices are affected by the City of Detroit.  Usually the closer the house or street is to the city of Detroit the less it will be.  The further west in the community you will find higher home prices.

Save thousands and thousands of dollars when selling your home.  I have some of the lowest home selling commissions.  Why pay full commission to a real estate agent and give away your hard earned money.  Are you willing  to over pay for selling your home?  Give me a text or call today 248-310-6239 to see how much your home is worth and how much you can keep in your pocket.

About Redford
Are you moving to Michigan and do not have $150,000 to buy a home?  Do you want to stay under a $100,000?  Then Redford Township may be the community for you.  Redford is just west of Detroit, Michigan.  The  community is 11.25 square miles in size and has about 51,622 citizens. The zip codes are 48239 and 48240.   The city is what I would call a bedroom or starter community.  Many of the homes are small bungalows or ranches under 1100 square fett.  One of th main rivers in Detroit, the upper Rouge River flows through the Lola Valley Park in the township.

Redford does have a small commercial area. The businesses are concentrated mainly in an area bounded by Telegraph Road (US-24), Plymouth Road (M-14), Interstate 96 Freeway, and Inkster Road. The CSX Railroad parallels the I-96 Freeway. Most of the major commercial development is found along Telegraph Road, a series of major mile roads, both east-west and north-south, complimenting the Telegraph Road and I-96 corridors which connect to the region.

History of the community
Nineteen year-old Israel Bell and his 15 year-old wife first settled the Redford area in 1818. Named because of its location at the place where the Indians and early settlers could cross the "rouge" or "red" river. The Rouge River got its name because of its reddish water and its red clay banks, which are remnants of a prehistoric lake whose bottom was red clay.

The Redford Theatre opened on January 27, 1928 as a neighborhood movie house. It was billed as "America's Most Unique Suburban Playhouse." The theatre, with its three story grand foyer and full-size stage, has been in continuous operation ever since.
