About Southfield
Southfield is ideally located on the I-696 and M-10 corridor.  It is just a short 20 minute ride to Downtown Detroit.  Southfield in the early 1980's became a business center.  Small highrises popped up and major businesses relocated to the area.  Southfield soon became the next business center of metro Detroit.  Homebuyers wanted to be close to work so Southfield lots and vacant land were developed into real estate.

What is nice about Southfield real estate is that you will find old and new, small and big homes throughout the city.  You will find condos, and duplexs too.  What many home buyers like is that some Southfield real estate sits on larger lots.  You can find many sprawling ranches on large lots with mature trees throughout the city.  For relocation buyers this is one of the few communities that you will find "space" in real estate close to downtown Detroit.  It is not just a few places,  Southfield real estate as a whole is not jammed tight subdivisions.

Throughout Southfield you will find some bungalows and small ranches but the majority of Southfield homes are over 1100 square feet.  You will find brick ranches and colonials  ranging over 2000 square feet.  If a relocation buyer asks me where can they find a home on a larger lot that is within 30 minutes of Downtown Detroit I would say Southfield Michigan is the place to look.
