Making an Offer

If you are interested in buying your first West Bloomfield home, here are some tips on making an offer:

So let's talk about making a first time offer. You have to determine three things when making an offer.

1.) What type of real estate market is it? Are West Bloomfield homes selling quickly, and are they selling at, close or over the listing price. If this is happening, then there are very little West Bloomfield homes to chose from. Then it may be a seller's market. If homes are sitting on the market for 30, 60, 90 to 120 days with more home to choose from, then it is a buyer's market. Ask me and I will be able to hep you determine what type of market you are looking in. It can vary from city to city in different areas.

2.) How bad do you want the home? Does your wife have to have this West Bloomfield home? Or is it just OK? Are you willing to keep looking? Or is it the best West Bloomfield home for you? Deciding how badly you want the home helps you decide whether or not you put in an offer or really try to bargain for a deal.

3.) Price of recent and similar homes sold in the area. This is your starting point. If 2400 square foot West Bloomfield colonials in excellent condition are selling for $260,000 and the house you are looking at is 2400 square feet, in excellent condition, then the seller is likely to know that is worth $260,000 and wants to sell for at or around that price.

So now how bad do you want the home for the type of real estate market you are in. These West Bloomfield real estate home buyer tips apply to any home whether it is in Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw or Livingston Counties. So before you make an offer on a West Bloomfield home or any home, try to figure out these three items. That way you can make a sound bid to win the home at a price you can afford.
