Orchard Lake in Orchard Lake Michigan
Orchard Lake real estate and Orchard Lake waterfront properties
Orchard Lake real estate has many luxury lakefront homes and waterfront properties. Some of these waterfront homes have sold for over a million dollars. The smaller homes are usually bought and then torn down to build a newer and bigger home.
The homes on the East side of the lake sit on the opposite side of the road (Indian Trail). There is a 10 to 30 foot piece of land that sits between the road and the lake. To access your boat and dock, you have to cross the road. But that doesn't seem to affect the owers of these estate homes or the prices for these Orchard Lake luxury lakefront homes.
There are quite a few areas on the lake where there are no lakefront homes on the lake because of a busy road. Commerce Rd and Orchard Lake Rd run along the side of Orchard Lake and in some places there are no homes at all by the road.
Home styles on the lake are estate homes, cape cods, colonials, ranchs and split levels.
There is an island in the middle of the lake. The island is called Apple Island. It's name came from all the apple tree that were on the island. It is said that the Indian Chief Okemos was born on the island. The island is now owned by the West Bloomfield School district after the last private owner left it to them.
Orchard Lake is a 788 acre lake with a maximum depth of 110 feet. The lake is an all sports lake with public access off of Orchard Lake Rd north of Pontiac Trail.
