Stonewater subdivision is one of Northville and Novi's top subdivision's. When home buyers talk about high end subs, Novi's Island Lakes and Bellagio subdivision, and Northville's Stonewater neighborhood come up. The neighborhood has a homeowners association. Even if you have a dog there are no fences allowed unless there is a pool. It is one of Northville's premier affluent subdivision. Other ones are Oakleaf and Northville Hills. Stonewater is a large subdivision that goes 1 mile wide and has about 443 homes in it. The homes were constructed between 1999 - 2013. All of the homes are custom built. There were about six different builders in the sub, so no two homes look alike.
This is one of the few communities in the western suburbs of Metro Detroit that have small lakes and waterfront properties to chose from. None of the lakes are all sports, but a few of them are big enough for electric motor pontoons. There is a mile long trout stream that has been painstakingly restored. (When the sub was built a stream was bulldozed over. So the DNR made them restore it). Many of the homes have water views.
The characteristics of the homes are: mostly Colonial and Cape Cod style, range from 3300 - 5700 square foot, brick exteriors, 3 & 3+ car garages, 4-5+ bedrooms, 3 + bathrooms, basements (some walkout).
Some of the homes other fine features are:
- Soaring ceilings & 2 story great rooms
- Top end amenities
- Butler pantry
- Granite gourmet kitchens with lots of counter spaces
- Generous amounts of cabinets
- Wainscoting
- Crown Moldings, pillars, and other fine wood working details
- Two story decks/paver patios
- Outstanding professional landscaping
- Formal dining rooms
- Custom staircases, some curved, some dual
- Soaring cozy fireplaces
- Sun rooms, kitchen nooks, conservatories
Some of these homes have finished basements, media rooms, gorgeous bars. You name a fine top end feature one or more of these homes have it.
The lots are not overly large on the lake front. Though there are quite a few beautiful large spacious lots on the cul de sacs, but not on the lake front.
The children attend Northville Schools which are considered one of the top schools in the area.
There are 11 parks, gazebos, walking trails, trout stream, 6 small lakes totaling 115 acres. The lakes are not all sport but do allow electric motor pontoon boats. The subdivision was carved out of a old gravel pit and has many different builders giving a variety of homes and styles.
You can enter the neighborhood of 6 Mile Rd, 7 Mile Rd, or Beck Rd. There is easy highway access to M-14 which connects to I-275 and I-696. You can be in Ann Arbor in less than 20 minutes and downtown Detroit in about 35 minutes. The location of the subdivision is between 6 and 7 mile roads and between Beck and Ridge Roads.
