What does Broom Clean Mean?

Explanation of broom clean

In every purchase agreement there is a clause that says when the seller leaves their home after closing that the house must be broom clean.  Here is the explanation of what Broom Clean means.  Broom Clean means that your Commerce Township home must be cleaned of all your belongings.  It means all of your belongings.  Whether you want them or not. 

You cannot leave any of your junk behind.  Some of the items that you cannot leave behind are:

• discarded clothes
• old paint
• bricks, & blocks
• old lumber
• dishes
• junk in the attic
• stuff left in the shed
• old vacuums
• broken bird baths

You must take everything that you own with you or throw it in the garbage.  It is not up to the buyer to clean up your mess.  Broom clean means that you should run a vacuum over the carpet and a broom over the rest of the floors.  That is what broom clean means.  Let me tell you that I have seen closings stopped or held up because the house was not broom clean
