White Lake in White Lake Michigan 

White Lake is a 540 acre all sports lake in White Lake Township & Highland Township in Oakland County MI. White Lake is White Lake Township's largest lake. It has several islands where many of the residents park their boats, mingle and talk. It also has what they call the swimming hole. (the deep spot in the lake)

White Lake is roughly about 1 1/2 miles long and a 1/3 to 1/2 mile wide. The deepest part of the lake is 32 feet deep with the north end being mostly under 8ft deep and the south end of the lake being deeper (around 20 ft deep)

White Lake is part of the Huron River Watershed

White Lake puts on a great 4th of July fireworks display.                       

If you are looking for a White Lake waterfront home there are a few for sale at any time of the year. Because White Lake is one of Oakland County's larger all - sports lakes homes on the lake hold their price relatively well and will appreciate when the real estate market starts appreciating.

White Lake water front homes are a wide mixture of colonials, ranches, cape cods, bungalows, and even tri-levels. You can have a small older 3 room cottage next to a 2000 square foot colonial. There are some areas of the lake where the homes sit above the lake so there are stairs down to the lake from the homes. Other parts of the lake the home and land is flat.

The price range of White Lake waterfront properties range from under a $100,000 to over a $800,000 depending on the size and location of the home on White lake. Like most of Southeastern Michigan lakes there are small lake cottages built from the 1920s to 1960s now updated and converted to year round use. And there are new built colonials and lakefront homes with all the latest amenities. 

White Lake has public access for putting in boats on White Lake. There are about 18 spaces to park your car and your boat trailer. The White Lake public access is located off Duck Lake Rd on the west side of White Lake. There is toilet facilities. There is a charge to use the boat launch. 

If you don't get there early you are going to be waiting to put in your boat. Even if you have another place to park your boat and trailer you can't put your boat it. It is one way of controller how many outside boats come onto the lake. 

There is also Mitchells Marina which rents pontoon boats and boat slips for the summer.

 White Lake Inn

 What I really like about White Lake is that there is a small restaurant right on the lake.... White Lake Inn. It is a great place to catch a quick meal. Sometimes they have music there too. They have docking facilities so you can pull up in your boat after a day on the lake. They even have a volley ball court too.

These are the types of fish that are in the lake: Large and Smallmouth bass, pike, Bluegills, some walleye, black crappies, rock bass, bullhead, and yellow perch

DNR has been stocking White Lake with Walleye over the years.
