Cedar Island Lake in White Lake Michigan

Cedar Island Lake is a 169 acre all sports lake located in White Lake Township Oakland County Michigan. There is a public access ramp located on the west side of the road.

I have spent many hours water skiing and knee boarding on Cedar Island Lake. I like the lake because there are multiple coves and bays for a boater to go into. The general shape of the lake is like a U. Like all lakes there several areas the lake residents gather to talk and party. One area even has a volley ball net set up in the water.

Even though Cedar Island Lake has a public access ramp, it only has 4 parking spots. So there are not a lot of non-resident boaters on the lake.

Cedar Island Lakefront homes are mainly 2000 square foot and below. Though there are quite a few larger homes. There is a beautiful 6000 square foot home on one of the bays and there is a beautiful triangular shaped home with lots of glass windows. Most of the lake front homes are very well maintained.

Most of Cedar Island Lake front homes are level with the lake though there are a few homes on the bays that sit above the lake (where stairs are needed to get down to the lake.

There are multiple canals and small bays off the main lake that you can live on and be away from the noise of the lake. But other than the weekends there is not a lot of boating traffic on the lake.

The deepest spot in Cedar Island Lake is 72 ft. There are no wake restrictions other than the normal ones. No wake in the canals and no coming close to the docks and land. The lake is fed by Huron River via Oxbow Lake. There is no public beach on Cedar Island Lake. There are multiple lake associations

Cedar Island Lake is located:

• East of Oxbow Lake Road & Bogie Lake Road
• North of Cooley Lake Rd
• West of Union Lake Road.
• South of M-59 and Elizabeth Lake Road

I have seen many people fishing on the lake but I don't believe that it is a great fishing lake. Like most of south Eastern Michigan lakes Cedar Island Lake has the following fish types: Crappie, Bluegill, rock bass, Largemouth Bass, walleye, northern pike, perch, and smallmouth bass.
