Dearborn real estate
Dearborn Michigan is where Ford Motor Headquarters is and that explains a lot about Dearborn. Henry Ford and Ford Motor company was the drive for growth in Dearborn. The city of Dearborn is where it is today because of Ford Motor Company. Ford employees and executives for years lived in Dearborn because of the short ride to work. Ford Motor Company contributed heavily to the city's tax base and charitable works.
So when you look at Dearborn real estate you will see small starter homes.....1000 - 1400 square foot bungalow and ranches. You will see street after street of bungalows and ranches. Then you will find bigger ranches and colonials but most of the homes in Dearborn Michigan are under 2000 square feet. It is what I would call a starter home community.
But there are bigger colonials and ranch homes along the golf course and several areas of the city. Like I said most of Dearborn real estate is under 2000 square feet but there are bigger homes ranging over 3000 square feet. In the past few years Dearborn real estate has been changing. Many older homes have been torn down to make way for newer homes with open layouts and all the latest amenities like gourmet kitchens, large master suites, and granite counter tops.

There are basically two section in Dearborn. East Dearborn and West Dearborn. East Dearborn are the older homes. Some are wood homes that are now aluminum or vinyl clad. West Dearborn homes are newer and you will see newer condos and more of the rebirth of Dearborn. You will see some of the newer rebuilt homes here. Southfield Rd is the dividing line between east and west Dearborn.
If you are relocating to Michigan you may want to look at Dearborn Michigan. It's good city services, active downtown, closeness to the airport and downtown Detroit is a draw for many people. Especially if you are a Ford Motor Company employee and do not want to drive far to work. Other near by cities are Allen Park and Garden City.
Dearborn History
Dearborn MI was a racist city for years under mayor Hubbard so you won't find a racially diverse city. Now they say it has one of the biggest Muslim/Arabic/Middle Eastern populations in the US. It is a great community with good schools. I had family that worked for Ford Motor company that lived there, and I have many good clients that live there.
Henry Ford even developed a section of the city for his employees. His charitable contributions have helped Dearborn become a financially strong city with large parks and good city services. They have hundreds of acres of parks and recreation area including camp Dearborn.
A strong and large police force helps keep the community safe.
It is a solid community that has a central shopping and business districts along Ford Rd, and Michigan Avenue. Because it has become a major middle eastern community you will find stores and restaurants catering and specializing in Mediterranean - Middle eastern food and articles.
There are actually two business districts. One older business district by city hall in East Dearborn and then the newer business district in West Dearborn. Here you will find chain restaurant and stores. You will find newer condos for those people that want to walk to downtown Dearborn.
