Novi is a safe community. No gangs. No crack or meth houses. It's safe to walk down the street with your kids and pets. You are very unlikely to get mugged or carjacked in Novi. The police department protects the community well. It is not a dangerous town at all. You will have random crime like domestic disputes, juvenile vandalism, and an occasional robbery. Novi has a central shopping district that is located around I-96 and Novi Rd exit. There is Twelve Oaks Shopping Mall, Fountain Wall, West Oaks shopping area and more all in the same general vicinity. Then there are other stores near the 8 mile and I-275 interchange.
