18 inexpensive tips to improve your curb appeal- Bloomfield Hills home selling tips

If you are looking and reading these Bloomfield Hills home selling tips it means that you want to be ready to sell your home for top dollar.  I think it means you are at least thinking of doing something to improve your chances of selling your home and trying to get the best price possible.   That's my goal when ever I list a home and it helps that the seller is committed to doing their best to get top dollar too

In today's internet world curb appeal is so important.  Pictures of your home are what make Oakland County home buyers come to see the inside of your home.  Having curb appeal is important to get people into the home.  If your curb appeal shows in the pictures you are likely to get more people inside of your home.

    1.  Make those windows shine.  Wash the windows.
    2.  Trim bushes and trees around the house. Trim back or replace as needed.
    3.  Paint or update the light fixture at the front door especially if it doesn't work or is rusted.

Is Novi MI a safe place to live?

  1.  Paint, Repair or install a new mailbox. A leaning mailbox shows that you don't care about the maintenance of your home.
  2. Remove or Replace window treatments inside the house if necessary. “Take a look at the window treatments in the rooms on the front of the house,” If the shades or windows are broken then it give an unkept appearance to the house. “How do they appear from the street or front walk? Update or eliminate if needed.”
  3. Remove the trip hazards.  Repair the front walk if it is cracked or heaved to the point of tripping somebody.  Cracked sidewalks are not necessary to replace unless the sidewalk is falling apart.
  4. Remove dead trees, fill in the holes.  Trim dead or unruly shrub branches.
  5. Keep the lawn manicured and trimmed.  Mow the lawn at least weekly.
  6. Power wash your house if you have mold on it or it is dirty. Before you hire a professional for this service, check out the Windex Outdoor Multisurface Cleaner, which attaches to a garden hose. I used this product when I was selling my old house, and it cleaned up our vinyl siding and windows so easily.
  7. Clean the entryway, front lights, and walkway of cobwebs, tree debris, dust, dirt, etc.
  8. Plant flowers or add colorful, potted plants along your walkway or entryway.
  9. Spruce up your front door. Paint or re-stain if necessary “Doors leave a first impression as you enter the home,”
  10. Put fresh mulch down in the shrub beds after you weed them
  11. Put away bicycles, yard equipment, children’s toys in the garage or shed.
  12. Find somewhere else to park any extra cars, boats, trailers, or RVs.
  13. Pick up the landmines and clean up after your pets.
  14. Store garbage cans where they are not visible from the street.
  15. Clean gutters and roofs.  If you have tree growing out of the gutters or debris on the roof clean it off.
