Northville Subdivisions

If you are new to the area you will soon learn that Northville Michigan is one of the most sought after areas to live in Western Wayne County.  One of the reasons is it's excellent school system and it's easy access to freeways, shopping, and downtown.  Northville real estate should be on your short list of places to live.  Both Northville Township, and the City of Northville have many varieties, styles, and sizes of homes.  I have tried to give you a glimpse of what Northville Subdivisions  are like so you can get an idea of where you want to live in the area.  Many doctors, white collar professionals, sports stars, and business owners have chosen to call Northville home.

What attracts so many Metro Detroit home buyers is that there is a large variety of Northville subdivision homes styles.  Here is a short list of them: victorians, split levels, tudors, cape cods, ranches, bungalows, tri-levels, quad-levels, colonials, cape cod, and contemporary homes.  There is also a wide range of sizes from small 900 square foot ranches and bungalows to over 10,000 square foot luxury estate homes.  I would say the majority of homes range in size from 1500 -3500 square feet.

To give you an idea of how housing has changed in the metro Detroit area I will tell you when colonial home styles changed.  Before 1985 most colonials were between 1800 and 2200 square feet.  Standard ceiling heights were about 8 feet.  Most homes had a living room, formal dining room, and a family room.  But in 1985 homes styles changed.  Home became more of an open layout, great rooms had soaring ceilings,  master bedrooms became master suites, walk in closets became the norm.  Land had become more expensive so homes became bigger and ranch homes were no longer built because the builders needed to make a profit.

Stonewater subdivision is Northville's premier subdivision sitting on six small non all sports lakes.  There are luxury custom homes with the finest amenities in Stonewater subdivision.  There is is also a wide range of Northville homes have ammenities from slab homes to walkout basements.  Some are cute, cozy ranches and there are other large estate style homes with formal dining rooms, 1st floor laundry rooms, large master bedroom suites, with walk in closets and master baths, open layouts, granite counter tops, media rooms, librarys, and great rooms with soaring ceilings.
